百名店制覇のために食べ歩く日々。今日は平井の鰻屋さん、魚政。うなぎ百名店だ。
土曜日の夜18時頃お店に到着する。住宅地と商店街が混じったような小道にあるお店。当日に予約してギリギリこの時間であれば大丈夫とのことでこれたお店だ。1954年創業の老舗だ。四つ木にも同じ名前の店もあるが別のお店のようだ。三代に渡り受け継がれた秘伝のたれで、季節ごとに品質の良い鰻を使っているとのこと。関東風製法で紀州備長炭で焼き上げているとのこと。
鰻にあまり詳しくないので、関東風と関西風で調べてみることに。関東風は背開きで、焼いた後に蒸すという天竜川より東側の製法。関西風は腹開きで焼いた後は蒸さ無いという天竜川よりも西側の製法とのこと。
お店に着くと小上がりのテーブル席に案内される。頼んでいた花コース5,800円が出てくる。お通し2品、お刺身3品盛り、揚げ物、うな重、お吸い物、香もの。鰻だけではなく、刺身や天ぷらもレベルが高い。天ぷらは茄子、れんこん、えび、おくらだ。刺身はマグロ、いか、シマアジ。その辺の天ぷら屋や海鮮屋よりも全然美味しい。うな重はやはりふっくらして甘味のあるうなぎ。タレの甘みも絶妙に良い。店内もお客さんで満席だ。お水が紙コップでセルフと言うところだけが少し驚いたが、それだけ忙しいと言うことなのだろう。また来たいお店だ。
