大井町の人気のトンカツ屋、丸八さんに行ってきました。13時頃でしたがほぼ満席で繁盛しているようです。
2階の座敷席に通されました。老舗だけあって店内は雰囲気があり昔ながらの美味ものを食わせる店、という感じです。
私は上ロースカツ定食を注文しました。
均一な焦茶色の一張羅を纏って登場。立派なサイズで厚みもあります。頂いてみるとロースの肉質は柔らかく、噛むと甘い肉汁がジュワっと漏れ出てお見事な火入れです。そして特筆すべきは衣です。衣がとても美味しかったです。卵の層が厚くサクッと揚げられており、美味しさの秘訣は具体的には勿論分かりませんが長年の技術が詰まっているように思えます。
調味料はソースとからしのみで、the トンカツです。下味の塩味と豚の脂味、更にソースでご飯が進みます。
トンカツに欠かせないキャベツの千切りは厚切りで食べ応えと食感が残してありました。
味噌汁は玉ねぎか沢山入っており、玉ねぎの甘みが溶け出して美味しかったです。キャベツの浅漬けも付いており箸休めになりました。
ご馳走様でした。
