新中野界隈をぷらぷらしていたら、この店の海鮮丼の看板が目に入った（写真一枚目）。
刺し身が丼からはみ出ているので、あのはみ出た部分をつまみにビールを飲む。
しかるのち、残った部分を通常の海鮮丼として食べるというプランを思いつき実行に移す事にした。
注文は当然、特製海鮮丼（税込1,200円）とランチビール（税込300円）。
ご飯は無料で大盛りに出来ますがと言われたので大盛りにしてもらう。
特に腹が減っていたわけでもないのだが、無料と言われると断れないのだ。
しばらく後に提供された海鮮丼の実物（写真二枚目）を見て、安易に大盛りにした事を後悔する。
まるで漫画日本昔ばなしに出てくるよに酢飯を盛ったご飯。
そこにはもう刺し身を乗せるような余裕はなく、刺し身を貼り付けたものが大盛りの海鮮丼なのだ。
食べきれるかどうかという問題以前に、まずはこの海鮮丼をこぼさずきれいに食べられるかが不安だ。
だって私はかき氷を食べると、かならず氷をこぼしてしまう人なのに。
また私はおかずとご飯のバランスにもこだわるタイプだ。
先に刺し身がなくなって酢飯だけが残るなんて失態は避けたい。
丼物の場合、地面に対して垂直に食べ進んでいけば、
大抵はおかずとご飯が均等に減って行くので気が楽だ。
しかしこの海鮮丼はそうはいかない。
中央部はこんもりと盛り上がっているので、
刺し身一切れでその下にある大量のご飯を食べるのはバランスが悪すぎる。
さあどうする。
どうやればはちきれんばかりに盛られたこの海鮮丼を、
丼からこぼすことなく、しかも刺し身と酢飯をバランスよく食べる事が出来るのだろうか。
私がたどり着いた答えは、実は写真三枚目にヒントがある。
そう、カウンターには醤油を入れる小皿が数枚あったのだ。
これを3枚ほど拝借し、そこに刺し身を一旦退避さすことで事なきを得たのであった。
それなら最初から海鮮丼じゃなくて、刺身定食にしとけって話もあるけど。
