I went to "Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) Isshin" on a recent gourmet trip. It was the first Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) I visited that day♪ヽ(^o^)丿 Nishiogikubo has many privately owned Izakaya (Japanese-style bar), so I always have trouble deciding which one to go to (lol). However, I didn't have much information about this place, so I decided to give it a try. The exterior is beautiful, but the interior is beautiful as well♪ By the way, the staff were very friendly!! First, I wanted to eat my favorite marinated mackerel, so I chose "seared marinated mackerel" and "steamed shrimp Gyoza / Dumpling" which were light to go with the sake. The first sake I had was "Shinomine" unpasteurized sake. It was delicious!! I think it's unpasteurized sake that is only available in the fall, and although it has a strong umami and off-flavors, it's easy to drink♪ I'm sure I'll drink too much of it. ( *'艸') And then... I gulped it down while pairing it with my favorite marinated mackerel, and then it was an onslaught of food and alcohol♪ The food here is relatively easy to get used to, and when paired with sake, it's not too assertive, but not too subtle... it's a flavor that keeps it just right, so you might end up drinking too much!! ^m^ It's true that if the food is strong tasting, you'll want to drink more, but this was a restaurant where you could drink in a way that your heart craved, not your body craved (*'ω'*) I'd like to come back♪ It was delicious... thank you for the meal☆彡
