The owner is now a senior sommelier. We renovated the restaurant so that you can enjoy delicious homemade dishes with wine. The appeal of stews is that the flavors of the ingredients blend together. P |
日曜夜、ビールを飲みつつ欧風カレーが食べたい衝動にかられ、国分寺のラヂオキッチンへ。
駅からは少し歩く。飲み屋街を抜けたところにあるので、地元民でなければなかなか行かないような場所。
夜２２時頃に入店すると、先客は、４，５人。
カウンター席に座り、ビールと塩漬け豚のカレーを注文。
なお、この日、第２回ビール検定２級を受験した後だったので、ビールは一番高いヒューガルデンホワイト（ベルギー、小麦使用、上面発酵、淡色）を注文。
※ちなみに、同試験結果については、自己採点で80点だったので、合格ラインをクリア。（ランキング上位は見込めない。。。）
カレーはかなりの薄味。辛さはほぼない。むしろ、塩漬け豚と糖分（ライス）を摂取する食べ物と化している。
ただし、この程度の味付けの方が、ビールとの相性は良いのかもしれない。
辛さを増してスパイシーにしてしまうと、アルコールとの相性は必然悪くなることが予想される。
ライス量が多くない配慮もありがたい。
ビールとカレーを組み合わせる試みは都内だけでもいくつかの店でみられるが、真に成功している店は少ない。
やはりもう一工夫、二工夫必要だろう。
