After living in the US for 17 years, he returned to his hometown of Yamanashi Prefecture and learned the basics of customer service at the long-established Ryokan Kozantei Ubuya in Fujikawaguchiko Town. In July 2016, he opened High Spirits (Joukigen). This authentic Seafood Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) makes use of the culinary know-how he gained overseas.
