福岡を出るまで鰻のせいろ蒸しはどこにでもあるものだと思っていました。でもどこの地方に行ってもこの食べ方は見当たらない。福岡県の柳川独特の食べ方だったのですね❗
せいろ蒸しの特徴は最初からご飯にまんべんなくタレを染み込ませ、その上に鰻の蒲焼きと錦糸卵を乗せてあること。そして蒸しあげてあるので熱々で甘辛いタレがよく全体に染み込んでいます。
このタレが染み込んだご飯が子供の頃から大好きでした❗ご飯だけでもいけちゃいます(笑)
と言っても高価なせいろ蒸しですからそんなに数多く食べた機会はなかったのですが、あまりの美味しさに鮮明に記憶に残っておりました。
実に何十年ぶりのせいろ蒸しでしょうか？懐かしくいただきました❗
