Food [Winter specialty! 】Duck hot pot…2990-13200 yen
Kamonabe is Local Cuisine in Nagahama. Cooking duck in a hotpot is a unique method in Nagahama, and the locals are famous for duck-suki, but Sumimoto is a hotpot that is cooked in a special soup stock. We only use wild mallard ducks (blue-necked ducks), and the big difference from other ducks is that they are herbivores. Therefore, there is no stickiness or habit. Serve with plenty of green onions.

Suminoto's funa sushi has been passed down for four generations. We use natural female carp from Lake Biwa and the highest grade Omi rice, Koshihikari, and pickle them in traditional wooden barrels. The interesting thing about funa sushi is that the taste can vary greatly depending on the person who pickles it. What people often say is that the image of Funazushi has changed and that it is easier to eat. This is truly a must-eat dish. I will never let you lose anything.

[Summer Recommendation] The natural eel from Lake Biwa is thick and only served grilled. Enjoy with carefully selected salt and freshly grated wasabi. The annual catch is small and the number is limited. It was completely different from any eel I've ever eaten before.
We are absolutely confident in the taste of Lake Biwa fish and duck hotpot. If you want to try local cuisine, head to Sumimoto.
