If you're looking for soba in Shizuoka, try Daishiki Soba!
It's been a while since I've had soba noodles. I arrived at 11:30 at the wrong time, but there was a line, but I thought that if the operation goes well, I wouldn't have to wait... I ordered the usual: Dai-Iseki Soba 1300 yen, large serving 300 yen, thick and thin noodles platter 300 yen, and Tempura 700 yen. As expected, I started by putting rock salt on the soba noodles, enjoying the texture of the thick and thin noodles. When I got used to it, I put a little bit of green onion and wasabi in the soba soup, dipped the noodles in it and slurped them up. I got addicted to repeating this process, and it was just delicious. To finish off, I added some leftover wasabi to the soba soup, which was a little left over, and poured in some thick soba soup. Also, The first bowl was lukewarm with a little bit of soba soup and a lot of soba soup. The second bowl was a little hot with soba soup and half and half soba soup. The third bowl was hot with plenty of soba soup and a little bit of soba soup. It may be an unusual way to eat it, but it was delicious! However, I wonder how long Mendy's calls will continue...

100% buckwheat noodles made with just water and buckwheat flour
This soba restaurant serves not-dry 100% buckwheat soba and tender duck dishes cooked using a vacuum process. |
It's been a while since I had a bowl of soba noodles. I ordered the usual, Dairui Soba 1300 yen, medium serving 150 yen, a mix of thick and thin noodles 300 yen, Oyster Tempura 900 yen, and sakura Tempura 1000 yen. As usual, I started by dippin' the soba noodles in rock salt, savoring the gooey texture of both the thick and thin noodles. Once I got used to it, I added a little bit of spring onion and wasabi to the soba soup, then dipped the noodles in it and slurped them up. Repeating this process became addictive and just delicious. To finish off, I added some leftover wasabi to the soba soup, which I had a little left over, and added some thick soba soup. Also, For the first bowl, I made it lukewarm with a little less soba soup and a lot of soba soup. For the second bowl, I made it a little hot with half soba soup and half soba soup. For the third bowl, I made it hot with plenty of soba soup and less soba soup. It may be an unusual way of eating it, but it was delicious!
