In the midst of an unexpected downpour, I went to have lunch at "Sakuraan Local Chicken Restaurant" along National Route 11 in Kawauchi-cho, Tokushima City. The other day, while I was driving along the national route, I discovered that they were open for lunch! I got information about their great value daily set menu, so I went right in! Since I was visiting alone, I was shown to a counter seat. The interior of the restaurant is based on black and has a calm atmosphere, however, there is a staff member right in front of the counter seat, and it just doesn't feel right (^^;;) I sat down but I don't know what the daily special is... I'm sure it's displayed somewhere, but... I couldn't find it (^◇^;) I asked the staff and they told me that on this day it was "Chinese rice bowl",  Before I had time to relax... it arrived in no time! So fast! It was served in about 2 minutes... (^◇^;) I was a little surprised by this, and when I asked them, they said... they were just warming it up. This is a daily special set meal that is more substantial than the price would suggest! The Chinese rice bowl is brimming with soup and contains plenty of Chinese cabbage and quail eggs. There is also salad, miso soup, etc. Three types of dressing are available. The miso soup has wakame seaweed stems and the taste was better than I expected! There is no sense of work at all, which is common with super cheap lunches. The staff are all friendly and polite (*´-`) Above all, it is clear that they are working hard... When paying the bill, I spoke with a staff member who told me that lunch service will end at the end of October (･･;) From November they will be shifting to selling Bento (boxed lunch) only... I'm sad because the lunches are so satisfying, but I'm really glad I was able to visit before the hours changed!
