子供の頃から知っていた「恐れ入り谷の鬼子母神」という言葉。
語呂が良くて、意味も知らずに良く使っていた。
この鬼子母神様のお寺の前にある鰻店に、予約なしで訪問してみた。
案の定、席は満席だったが、あまり待たずに奥の客室に案内された。
注文したのは「葵かねみつ重(特大)」7,300円税別とヱビス中生680円。
料理が出来るまで30分以上かかるので、覚悟して待つことにした。
お通し(骨煎餅)300円をつまんでみたが、歯の悪い自分には少々辛い食感。
さらに「黒ラベル中瓶」850円を追加して料理を待った。
胸をときめかしながら、届いた重箱の蓋を開ける。
美しい飴色の鰻様が鎮座して、それはとても眉目秀麗なお姿。
山椒をふりかけて口にしてみる。
早速、とろけるような鰻の味わいに魅了される。
鰻独特の野趣に富んだ風味が芳ばしく、山椒との相性がとても良い。
御飯が美味しくて、しかも適度に硬質で嬉しい。
愛知県、一色産のレベルの高い鰻を食べて大満足。
他に吸物は「肝吸い」、お新香も奈良漬けや胡瓜、人参、大根があって満足。
会計は1万円超えしたが、恍惚した気分で店を出たのは久しぶり。
