The dining restaurant "Enju" at "Happoen" will change its business format and reopen as "Restaurants" in April 2023. The next concept is a ``food culture creative Restaurants'' and ``innovative fusion.'' What is "innovative fusion"? There are wide windows inside the store, and you can see the proud Japanese garden. There are many private rooms, but unless you're having a secret meeting, we recommend taking a seat at the counter. By the way, the name ``Happouen'' comes from ``beautiful in all directions,'' and recently Biden and Kissy used the on-site restaurant ``Tsubochuan'' for dinner, which became a hot topic of conversation. . Wine is cheap, isn't it? A bottle of champagne here costs around 10,000 yen, and still wine starts at around 6,000 yen. The lineup includes a wide range of famous wines from France and other countries around the world, and although it may not appeal to connoisseurs, it was a very favorable wine list. The amuse is Nanaya duck rillettes and peach frites. I have had many opportunities to eat Nanaya duck, but this may be my first time trying it as a rillette. The meat has a rough texture and is powerful, which can be felt even in the rillette state. It's considered a soup, with eggplant, junsai, and sea urchin. It has a light taste like Japanese Cuisine, but the Shine Muscat flavor may have been a little harsh. In 2023, Shine Muscat will be in abundance and every restaurant will be using it so many times that I was getting tired of it. The focaccia is baked in a special Nanbu ironware, and it looks delicious and is actually delicious. Poiled scallops. It seems to be a fine product from Yamada Town in Iwate Prefecture, and the presentation has a somewhat old-fashioned feel to it, like a wedding reception. It is difficult to call it ``innovative fusion'' at this point. A chawanmushi-style dish. The dough is made of polenta, and the soup stock (?) is poured over it and topped with kettle-fried whitebait. This is an interesting experiment, and indeed it is called "innovative fusion." If we do well, we may be able to develop chawanmushi for people with egg allergies. Garrettes of buckwheat flour. The seeds are Tatsuta-age fried Nanaya duck, which has a pleasant crispy texture. In a sense, it has the same direction as Kernel Crispy Twister, and is a taste that will appeal to everyone. The fish dish is bonito persard. Persard is a dish similar to fried breaded breadcrumbs with herbs, and the strong flavor of the bonito goes well with the seasoned batter. I want to prepare plenty and go hard with beer. It also comes with black garlic puree, which goes well with the focaccia. The main dish was Nanaya duck roti. The front is the peach and the back is the breast. As I felt with the rillette at the beginning, it's a deep material that I personally benefit from. The sauce is traditional sauce salumi with a classic finish. Curry as a bonus. The meat is ground pork, but the base is Nanaya duck extract. It was definitely delicious, but the quantity was so small that I felt stressed. After all, I want to eat curry to the fullest. Dessert is plum, panna cotta, and red shiso granita. It wasn't bad, but it had a simple sweetness, and I felt that it was not worthy of its reputation as an "innovative fusion" of a "food culture creative Restaurants." Finish with tea and sweets. Thank you for the meal. The above course meal costs 15,000 yen, and including alcohol and other items, it's just under 30,000 yen per person. Considering the stately Japanese garden and the grandeur of the building, the prices are reasonable, but the food was typical of a large-scale restaurant and lacked anything special. All the dishes were consistently delicious, but I didn't have the impression that they left a strong impression on me. Of course, the origin of our hotel was to entertain overseas VIPs in a full-fledged restaurant that made use of a Japanese garden, so considering the number of private rooms and high level of service, this is what it should be. The wine isn't expensive either, so it's perfect for entertaining parties with a limited budget. It might be a good idea to stop by to enjoy the cherry blossoms and autumn leaves for lunch. It was Restaurants where you could enjoy the overall power of the restaurant. ■Click here for blog with photos → [a:https://www.takemachelin.com/2023/09/enjyu.html]
