Chinese cuisine with a focus on vegetables and seasonings
We purchase freshly picked vegetables every day. Many of these vegetables are not sold in supermarkets, and we prepare them in a way that suits them. Please enjoy the original flavor of the vegetables |
This Chinese restaurant is located about a 7-minute walk from the north exit of Kokubunji Station. In Kokubunji, where there are many restaurants in front of the station, I thought that being 7 minutes on foot from the station would be quite a handicap, but when I visited on a holiday just after opening time, it was almost full, showing how popular it is. The restaurant has 18 seats in total, with 2 counter seats, 2 tables for 2 people, and 3 tables for 4 people. The interior is simple and clean, with almost no Chinese feel. The lunch menu has a lineup of 2 set meals, 1 fried rice, and 3 noodles. At the bottom of the menu, there was a 350 yen lunch beer, so I asked if I could order a regular size, and they also brought me a drink menu. [b: Draft beer mug 600 yen Seafood, yuba, and Chinese cabbage cream set 1200 yen] The draft beer is Asahi Dry Premium Hojo. It has more body than Super Dry, but it's still refreshing. The mug is quite slim. The lunch was served without much waiting and included a main course, soup, rice, salad, Small dish greens. I also had a beer that day, so I ordered half the rice. The main dish, Seafood, yuba, and Chinese cabbage cream stew, looked like cream stew, but the broth was different, and the taste was definitely Chinese. However, it was a natural and gentle seasoning that was not Chinese. Plenty of squid, shrimp, scallops, and other Seafood, and soft yuba, mixed with the rich white cream, were delicious. It was perfect as a side dish for rice, and also as a snack with beer. Small dish and soup were carefully made, and it was a very satisfying set meal. There are actually a lot of good Chinese restaurants in Kokubunji. The so-called local Chinese restaurants may be decreasing, but instead, I feel like there are more and more natural and healthy Chinese restaurants like this one that focus on ingredients and seasonings. I'm at an age where I can't eat a hearty meal anymore, so I'm quite happy about this. I would definitely like to visit this place in the evening. The only thing that's a bit of a hassle is that payment is only by cash.
